The sound channel represents sound entering and exiting via a single point. For instance, a simple microphone is a one-way sound channel where the input is via a microphone and outlet is via the speaker. This manner of sound travel is the one channel audio. Small microphones work on this concept. Likewise, there are an array of sound channels that add to the quality of your sound as well as the viewing experience.

These can be enhanced by several additional customized sound technology which can be viewed as a game-changer in the audio experience. One such technology is Truvison’s Turbotek technology which is orienting quality sound channel into common households. Here are the sound channels of the audio world and a brief description of each one of them that will help you choose the right surround system for your audio and visual activity.

Mono (Monaural or Monophonic Sound Reproduction)

Similar to 1.0 sound channel, the mono is one-way audio that defined the original concept of reproduction which would be heard via a single channel. This type could only emit the sound and lacked fine recording facility and a sense of location. It might be considered way past the current trend but it did manage to shake up the audio industry with its inception.

Nowadays, the mono has been replaced by the stereo in most entertainment projects for its ability to produce multi-directional sound but continues to be useful for radio communications, telephone networks and in circuits for hearing aids. Certain FM radios choose the mono as the single monaural signal is more powerful than a stereophonic signal of the same power.

1.0 Channel Stereo System

As mentioned before, the 1.0 sound channel just travels in one direction, from input to the output. It remains true to a singular focal point from which the sound can be heard. It works great if you are looking for nothing fancy, cos-efficient, and a humble musical stereo system that offers a definitive audio experience.
